She was preceded in death on November 17, 1973 by her husband, Fredy Shafer Sr., who was raised in the Brandonville, WV. area.

Friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville, WV, Tuesday, April 16, 1996 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the time of services in the funeral home, with Pastor Richard Sisler officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills, WV.}}
