Mrs. Flossie Mae Davis, 88, of Bimble, passed away Sunday evening, June 24, 2012 at the Christian Health Center in Corbin. She was a daughter of the late Hilary and Nora Epperson Thomas born on August 6, 1923 at Girdler.

Mrs. Davis was a former homemaker and a member of the Roadside Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, tending flowers and cooking.

On March 2, 1949, she united in marriage with Alfred B. Davis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, a son, Claude Dewayne Davis; two brothers and eight sisters.

Survivors include her son, Billy Ray Davis and wife, Wanda, of Corbin; four grandchildren, Sandy Lynn Dutaz and husband, Guy, Stephen Davis and wife, Jamie, Claudia Ann Bowden and husband, Jason, and Stanley Ray Davis and wife, Cindy; six great grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, June 27 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Denvil Taylor officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Stephen, Stanley, Charlie and Zachary Davis, Jason Bowden and J. J. Miller. Honorary bearers will be the nurses and staff of the Christian Health Center.
