Gloria Sue Wilganowski was born on Oct. 30, 1951, in Houston, the daughter of Joe Max and Frances Pauline (Jezierski) Benkowski.

She grew up in Houston and attended Christ the King Catholic School and Hogg Junior High, before graduating from Reagan High School.

A Catholic by faith, she married Martin Wilganowski, Jr., on Feb. 15, 1969, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Houston.

Sue and Martin along with their two sons lived in Houston before moving to Sealy in 2000. Then in 2003, they relocated to Bellville.

Sue was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville, where she was a dedicated volunteer of the church bazaar and the Bleiblerville Volunteer Fire Department fund raiser.

Sue was also a member of the League of Postmasters, Combined Federal Campaign of the United States Postal Service and the CCW-Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Visitation was from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009 at Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville.

Funeral Mass was at 2:00 p.m., Mon. Sept. 21, 2009 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Tim Bucek, Celebrate.

Pallbearers were Celestine Cobb, Donna Russell, Mary Copeland, Annette Jenkins, Linda Van Horne, and Debra Maneau.
