Arne, his wife Ida and their children Alvida Aslakson 5 years (she sometimes spelled it Alvilda), Konstance Aslakson 3 years (Constance), and Ragnhild Aslakson 4 months (although there is no record in the US of Ragnhild) immigrated to the United States in 1882 heading to Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. They settled in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin and had more children, Albert Lewis Arnesen, Carl Sigvard Arnesen, Alma Christine Arnesen, Arthur Edward Arnesen and two twin sons. The twin sons are listed on the 1900 census as possibly Martin and Elerie but the writing is difficult to read.
Arne Arnesen died a widower on 3 Apr 1939 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois at the home of his daughter Alma Arnesen. Arne went by the last name of Aslakson until he is listed on his death certificate as Arne A. Arnesen. His children went by the last name Aslakson when they first came to the US and then their names were listed as Arnesen on census reports and other documents. Arne and his wife Ida (Eda) are buried in the same plot (Row 9 Lot #62) along with his father, Aslag Aslakson, and another Arnesen yet to be identified.
