The Citizen records with regret the death of its venerable friend, Mr. A. J. Folts, who departed this life at his residence near Glidden last Monday evening. Deceased was born in Tennessee in 1812, and came to Texas in 1852, residing in Colorado County all that time, 47 years. He was at one time our county treasurer, and was an energetic and progressive citizen. Quiet and unobtrusive in deportment, he was a man of firmness of character, decided in his views and bold in their expression. He had many friends wherever known. For over forty years he has been a consistent member of the Methodist church, and an earnest worker for the Master. His remains were committed to earch in the city cemetery at 9 o'clock yesterday morning under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity, Rev. J. W. McMahon officiating. Peace is his last rest.
