Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1915, and an only child, Ilah lived with her widowed mother who owned and managed a ten unit apartment building in Minneapolis during Ilah's teen years. When she was twenty-four she married Ralph Leonard Allen in Las Vegas Nevada on 6 Jan 1940. Leonard joined the war effort of WW II, and after the war they lived in California, in Los Angeles and then Escondido where Ilah lived to her last days. Ilah died 17 Sep 1987.
