Lloyd married twice, 1st to Violet May Freestone(1901-1921), they had one son, Harold Arthur De Reus(1921-2003). Violet died 8 days after giving birth to her son. Lloyd married 2nd Ruth E. Whitehead(1907-1998) on February 24, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa. They had two daughters Virgina De Reus and Betty De Reus.
