Died at 9:40 Wednesday, May 25, at a hospital in Refugio, Tex. A native of East Baton Rouge Parish, she lived in Melville. She was 89. Body will arrive at the Lafond Funeral Home in Opelousas Friday afternoon. Services at the Melville Methodist Church at 2:30 Saturday. Interment in the cemetary [sic cemetery] in Melville. She was a member of the Melville Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
Survived by a son, O. L. Overton, Refugio; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Satterley, Shreveport and Mrs. Dessie Rabalain [sic Rabalais], Baton Rouge; brother, Judge R. B. Butler Sr., Houma; granddaughter, Mrs. J. A. Anders Jr., Baton Rouge; three great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
