Edwin S. Alderfer, 79, of Pottstown, husband of the late Joy L. (Emery) Alderfer, passed away Friday at his residence.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Price and Eliza R. (Shewell) Alderfer.
Edwin was a past member of Brookside Country Club in Pottstown, Pottstown Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #814, Stichter Masonic Lodge #254 Pottstown, and Shrine, Reading.
He was a private Airplane Pilot, enjoyed traveling, and was an avid golfer.
Surviving is son, Edwin R. Alderfer, of Upper Pottsgrove; brothers Jeremiah S. Alderfer, husband of Margaret, of Lower Pottsgrove, and Joseph S. Alderfer, of West Virginia.
Including his parents and wife, Edwin was predeceased by his brother, Price H. Alderfer.
A funeral service will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum, Pottstown.
Memorial contributions may be made in Edwin's memory to the Pottstown Salvation Army, 137 E. King St., Pottstown, PA 19464.
