J. C. Satterfield died Saturday night, July 30, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. An additional service will be held, Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Barnwell Church of Christ in Barnwell, SC. Burial will follow in Barnwell County Memorial Gardens. The family can be contacted at the home of Mary A. Satterfield in Cordele.
Mr. Satterfield was a native of Gainesville, MO and the son to the late Moses Aaron Satterfield. He was a retired rigger for DuPont and a retired minister. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II. Mr. Satterfield was predeceased by his sons Michael Satterfield and Terry Satterfield. He was a member of First Street Church of Christ and a former member of Barnwell Church of Christ. He enjoyed being a counselor at Bible camp for many summers and also enjoyed traveling.

Satterfield of Cordele, GA; sons: Kerry Shawn Satterfield of August, GA, Jeremiah Jay Satterfield of Cordele and Buddy Castleberry and his wife Edith of Hawkinsville, GA; daughters: Jean Mansfield of Cordele, GA, Lorene Still of Kentucky, Janet Satterfield of Barnwell, SC, Sandra Lynn Satterfield of Columbia, SC, Peggy A. Meadows of Cordele, GA and Cletia J. Holland and her husband Walter V. Holland of Cordele, GA.; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
