John T. Hayter, 66 years of age, a resident of Hunt County for sixty-three years and one of the best known farmers in the Neola community, five miles south of Greenville at 8:10 o'clock Saturday morning, following a protracted illness that dated back to an attack of influenza.

John T. Hayter was born in Fannin County in 1859, being the son of J.L. and Cynthia C. Hayter. When he was three years of age the family moved to Hunt County. He was reared to manhood here and was married to Miss Fannie Buzbee on December 17, 1885. He is also survived by a grandchild, Fannye John Wilkerson, two brothers, J.O. Hayter and Arch Hayter, a half-brother, Henry C. Hayter of Snyder and two step-brothers, Abb Pearce, of California and Ed Pearce of Austin, beside a number of nephews and nieces.
