Funeral services are planned Thursday, Feb 7 for Andrew P. Nygaard, 90, of Creighton at the Zion Lutheran Church at Creighton at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Paul Banitt will officiate and burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bill Blair, Herman Dannert, Dale Lemke, Randy Nelson, Bernard Jorgensen and Ronald Nelsen.
The son of Peter and Fredrikke Nygaard, Andrew was born Feb. 5, 1889 at Ringsted, Ia. At the age of five he settled on a farm four miles north of Creighton where he lived for 71 years. As a youth he attended school at Bazile Mills. On Sept. 12, 1927 he married Christine V. Johnson at Webster Groves, Mo. In 1965 he and Christine retired to town in Creighton and later moved to the Good Shepard Home in Blair. His wife passed away in 1973. Mr. Nygaard was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
