William Fletcher Manson, 89, of 4312 Hilltop Road died Saturday night in Wesley Long Hospital.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home chapel with Dr. CHarles Shannon and the Rev. Earl K. Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.

A native of Lunenburg County, Va., he moved to Greensboro in 1920, when he joined Jefferson Standard Life Ins. Co. He later formed the Manson Ins. Agancy which he operated until his retirement in 1955. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War I and was a member of West Market Street United Methodist CHurch and the Odd Fellows, which recently recognized him for 50 years of service.

Surviving are widow, Mrs. Tela Hodgin Manson; sons, W. Y. Manson of Durham, J. F. Manson of Greensboro; sister, Mrs. Ella McKenzie Dunn of the Presbyterian Home in High Point; two grandchildren.
