Lorain Deloris Dowler, 91, of Salem, departed this life on Thursday, June 21, 2012, in the Salem Care & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on April 18, 1921, a daughter of the late Willie C. and Della Hutson Ash.
Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence E. Collins in 1969 and her second husband, John D. Dowler in 1985.
Surviving is nieces, Joann Blosser and Helen Davis, Salem, four step grandchildren and several other nieces and nephews.
One step-daughter, Patsy Buck; one brother, Bartlette Ash and two sisters, Tencie Davis and Lucille Herrod preceded her in death.
Mrs. Dowler was a member of the Parkersburg Church of Christ. She enjoyed making ceramics and crafts. Lorain was a loving aunt and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to give special to Cindy, of Family Services and Salem Care & Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful care.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem, on Monday, June 25, 2012, at 2:00 PM with Albert Farley presiding. Interment will follow in the Salem I.O.O.F. Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, June 24, 2012, from 4 - 8 PM and after 9AM on Monday until time of service.
