Susan was the daughter of Richard Fenwick and A. Louisa Mills, and had siblings, Mary Jane, Stephen, and Martha Ann. She was married first to Edward H. Poole 5 July 1834. They were parents of William B. and Edward H.(sometimes listed as Edwin.)

Edwin died 1834 and Susan married William Buntain 11 Feb. 1846 in Union, KY. In the 1860 Union Co. KY census she and William had children A. B., Susan E., John, Cricket, and Judge P. (In 1850 William's mother, Lavina Buntain was in their household.

When daughter Susan Buntain Duncan died 11 December 1939 in Texas her DC gave parents as William Buntain and Susan Fenwick of Union Town, KY.

Note: Susan was a granddaughter of Revolutionary War Patriot Ignatius Mills, father of Alouisa Mills Fenwick.
