CENTER, Fern O. 93, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 at The Hospice of Dayton. Born January 28, 1918 to the late Judge and Molly Day in Hazel Green, Kentucky. She was the youngest of twelve children: Samuel Day, Francis Day, Tina Swago, Cora Blankenship, Cordellia Horn, Daisy Duerring, Grace Stamper, Lillie Centers, Willie Day, Stella Pennington, and Orville Day. Fern married Herbert L Center in 1936 and they were married 66 years until Herbs death in 2003. Her parents, brothers, sisters, husband, youngest son Fred, sons-in-law Bob Dearing and Bob Ogles, great granddaughter Tammy Ogles have preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Jack (Penny) Center; daughters Peggy Center and Pat (Ralph) Welch; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Fern worked for Rikes in downtown Dayton many years. Fern moved from her home in Kettering to 10 Wilmington Place where she enjoyed life and made many friends. She attended Ohmer Park Methodist Church. Family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00PM Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432 with service to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial to follow at Mt Zion Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of your choice .
