OBITUARY :
CARLTON LEROY HILLIARD, SR., 74, of Falling Waters, W.Va., died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Golden Living Center, Hagerstown, Md.

Born March 14, 1938, in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Herman "Skinny" Hilliard and Esther V. (Turner) Hilliard.

He was a graduate of Martinsburg High School, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and retired from the CSX Railroad.

Mr. Hilliard was a member of the American Legion in Williamsport, and the Salvation Army Men's Club.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hilliard; three sons, Carlton Hilliard Jr. of Williamsport, Robert Hilliard of Marlowe, W.Va., and Billy Hilliard of Hagerstown; one daughter, Sherry Rourke of Smithsburg, Md.; one stepson, Thomas Condon; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, D. Jane Hilliard Brown of Williamsport.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Lee Hilliard; and one sister, Florence H. LeMaster.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, at Brown Funeral Home, with Pastor James Moore officiating. Interment will be held at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
