Robert W. BAGSHAW
Born on March 4, 1924 in Seattle to
Enoch Bagshaw, then football coach at the University
of Washington, and Elizabeth Dunn Bagshaw, he
graduated from Broadway High School, enrolled in the
University of Washington, and then served in the U.S.
Army 10th Mountain Division in Italy during WWII. He
returned home, married Elveda Lindborg, and completed
his degree in Geology. After some years working in oil
exploration in the Midwest, he returned to Seattle,
and spent 32 years as a buyer for the Boeing Company.
In 1963 he was remarried to Elizabeth Jallie, with
whom he spent the next 45 years. He was active in
Democratic politics, running for the legislature in
1964. A committed family man, he also enjoyed skiing,
sailing, hiking, camping and traveling with his
family. He faithfully donated to the blood bank during
all these years. After retirement, he enjoyed over 20
years of involvement with the local chapter of the
10th Mountain organization.
He is survived by wife Elizabeth, daughters Ann King (Dave), Margaret Bagshaw Philbin (Pat), Michelle Bagshaw (Guy Freeman) and son Paul Bagshaw.
A Memorial Service will be held at University Friends Meeting, 4001 9th Avenue NE, Seattle on Sunday, April 27th, at 3:00 p.m.
