Mrs. Alice Chapman Stickles, wife of Robert E. Stickles, died suddenly at her home north of the village of Fly Creek at 9am, Monday. Death due to a stroke of apoplexy. Sunday evening she was unconscious when found in the yard, near the house and it was supposed must have lain where she fell some time before being discovered, by a man who had went to the house on an errand and at once went to Charlie Irish's and aid was quickly summoned. Mr. Stickles, who was absent at the time, soon returned, but efforts to revive were proved unavailing and she passed away at 9 o'clock the following morning without regaining consciousness. The deceased was the daughter of the late Lewis Chapman, and is survived by her husband and ten children, and as many or more stepchildren, a sister, Mrs. Albert Trainor, and half brother, Fred Chapman. Mrs. Stickles was an attendant of the Methodist Episcopal Church, where the funeral service was held at 2 o'clock on Wednesday, the pastor, the Rev. S. A. Terry, officiating. Interment was in the Fly Creek Cemetery. Possessed of a large and generous nature, many outside the family circle, will regret the early termination of a life devoted to her large family of children and extend sympathy to the bereaved. Deceased was fifty-eight years of age and has passed nearly, if not, her whole life in this town.-Our Flycreek Reporter
