DEATH OF MRS. HAASE OF GRAND ISLAND

Mrs. Anna Kathrina Margareta Haase, wife of Clause Haase of Grand Island, died at the Sisters' Hospital in Sacramento, Saturday afternoon, September 11th.
Deceased was a native of Germany, aged 44 years and leaves to mourn her death a devoted husband and eight loving children, seven of whom were by a former husband. Death was a result of an operation which she had undergone a short time before and from which she was thought to be recovering, as no later than Friday she wrote to her loved ones at home that she would return on Tuesday next. Great was their surprise when they received word Saturday morning that she was sinking and her death was expected. The heart-broken husband departed on the first train out for the bedside of his wife, but her spirit took its flight before he reached the sick room.
The sorrowing husband accompanied the remains to their home kind neighbors and friends did all they could to comfort the afflicted husband and children. The funeral will take place Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Methodist Church in Arbuckle. The cortege will leave the family home at 12 o'clock and interment is in the Arbuckle Cemetery.
