Glenn L. (Pete) Breon, 63, of 209 N. Van Buren, died unexpectedly at 5:30 a.m. today at Ottumwa Hospital.

He had been a government meat inspector for 30 years and served at the Ottumwa plant of John Morrell & Co. from 1943 until 1965.

The son of John and Maude McElroy Breon, he was born Dec. 11, 1903, at Farson and had resided in Ottumwa most of his life. He was a member of First Church of God. His marriage to Julia Staton took place here on Feb. 12, 1922. She survives.

He also leaves his stepmother, Mrs. Myrtle Breon of Ottumwa; a son, Wallace Breon of Chicago; three daughters, Mrs. Ludille Lawson of Davenport, Mrs. Audrey DeWitt of Omaha and Mrs. Norma Beian of Phoenix, Ariz; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. There are also four half brothers, John, Max and Jesse Breon of Ottumwa and Frank Breon of Muscatine, and three half sisters, Mrs. Martha Romaley and Mrs. Deloris Wilkins of Ottumwa and Mrs. Aldine Chandler of California. A half brother, Orville Breon, and a grandson, Dean DeWitt, preceded him in death.

The service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Jay Funeral Home with the Rev. John Miller of First Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Martinsburg Cemetery.
