Rev. A. Hollifield
Funeral services for the Rev. Ansel Hollifield, 55, of Malakoff were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bethel Baptist Church in Athens with the Rev. J. R. Pruitt officiating.

Interment was in Mankin Cemetery, north of Trinidad under the direction of Carroll and Lehr Funeral Home.

Rev. Hollifield was born 1 April 1926 in Trindad and lived most of his life in the Malakoff and Trinidad area.

He died Thursday evening in the Veterans Admistration Hosptial in Temple after a lengthy illness.

Rev. Hollifield was a veteran of the US Navy during World War II.

He was a practicing minister for the Missionary Baptist Church for teh past 10 years.

He was a member of the Athens Chapter of Disabled Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Lucille Hollifield of Malakoff, one daughter, Betty Sue Daly of Tyler; one brother, Bruce Hollifield of Mabank; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Abbott and Mrs. Rosie Conger of Malakoff and Mrs. Marie Abbott of Crescent Heights and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Arlee Page, Floyd Miller, Jack McGee, Harold Templin, Walter Smith and David Ward.
