Kitty M. Hollandsworth

Kitty Maude Rorrer Hollandsworth, 82, of 4393 Oak Level Road, Bassett, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 27, 1917, in Patrick County to the late Grover Cleveland Rorrer and the late Nellie Hopkins Rorrer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, John J. Hollandsworth, one daughter, Emma Jean Conner Belton; one son, Kenneth Bruce Hollandsworth; three brothers, Stowell Rorrer, Edward Rorrer and Cecil Rorrer; and one grandchild.

She was retired from E.I.DuPont and was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Hurmand (Joyce) LaPrade and Mrs. Jimmy (Patricia H.)Cannoy, both of Martinsville; three sisters, Losia Craig of Basset, Josie Lawson of Stanleytown and Dade Lovell of Woolwine; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Norris Funeral Services Chapel with the Dr. Jerry D. Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.

The family will receive friends today from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
