OBITUARY from Kansas City Star : Roy Orville Lemon, 88, of 4820 Belleview, died Friday at a nursing home at 5900 Swope Parkway. He was born in Kansas City KS, and was a lifelong area resident. He worked as a PBX repairman for Southwestern Bell for 37 years before his retirement in 1956. He was a life member of the Charles S. Gleed, Chapter 38, Telephone Pioneers of America and was a life member of the Communication Workers of America. He was an Army veteran of World War I. He leaves a son, Robert G. Lemon 2009 NE 52nd Terr; 2 sisters, Mrs Ethel Bastian and Miss Bessie Lemon, both of the home, a stepbrother, Edwin Amos, Independence, a grandson and 3 great grandchildren. Services will be at 3p.m. Monday at the Amos Chapel, Shawnee; burial in the Bucyrus Cemetery, Bucyrus, KS. Friends may call from 7-9p.m. today at the chapel.


Roy was the husband of Enos and father of Robert G.
His parents, wife, sister, aunt and uncle are buried in BUCYRUS cemetery.
Roy served in the US Army with his cousin Guy Lemon [memorial # 17343964]. Both were sent to France during WWI.
