Elvin Gillenwater, 68, of Arcola, died at 4:30 am. Thursday, June 19, 1986 in Mercy Hospital, Urbana. Funeral services were held Saturday in Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, with burial in the Arcola Cemetery.
Mr. Gillenwater was born April 11, 1918 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, a son of Linzy and Ada Ford Gillenwater. He married Lucille Martin in 1944.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Arcola First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, son, Andy of Arcola; daughter, Lynn Bourgeois of Larose, Louisiana; brother, Sammy Gillenwater of Charleston; half-brother, Jesse Gillenwater of Villa Grove; half-sister, Lucy England of Sullivan; and three grandchildren.
Memorials ay be made to the Arcola First Baptist Church Memorial Fund or the Hospice Unit at Mercy Hospital, Urbana.
