Cyril Gene Kooiman, 69, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Lakeview Healthcare Center in West Salem, where he lived for the past 25 years. Gene was born on September 29, 1936, the youngest of five children born to Dirk and Alacoque (Kaney) Kooiman.
Gene is survived by his sister Mary Jo Wolff Marquardt of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John D., Robert D., and F. Paul Kooiman.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Button Cemetery. The Pratt Funeral Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
