Mrs. Ruby Rhoton, 46, of Rural 1, St. Joseph, passed away December 29, 1966 at her home.
She was born April 20, 1920 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky and was the daughter of the late Lindsey Burr Gillenwater and Ada Belle Ford Gillenwater.
She married Walter Rhoton on April 28, 1939 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. They moved to the Homer, Illinois area in September 1944.
Mrs. Rhoton leaves her husband and four sons: Jerry L. of Urbana, James F. of Homer, Thomas Lee in the Navy in Charleston, South Carolina, and Jerdan at home; three daughters, Mrs Vernie Jean Taylor of Catlin, Evie Jean and Kathryn at home, and six grandchildren.
She also leaves four brothers; Elvin GIllenwater of Arcola, Carl Gillenwater of Salem, Dewey and Sammy Gillenwater of Kankakee; two half-brothers Lemuel Gillenwater of Tuscola, and Jesse Gillenwater of Villa Grove; and two half-sisters; Mrs. Lucy England of Sullivan and Mrs. Annie Casteel, who passed away in 1938.
Mrs. Rhoton was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church in Kentucky.
