Mary is the daughter of Henderson (Harry) Lee Costner and Susanna Rogers Costner. Her siblings are: Marjorie Costner Bryce, Ray Costner, Betty Jean Costner Morris, Katherine Costner Harmon, Rochelle Costner Poulsen, Bob Costner, Connie Costner (Sherman) Hamm, and Martha Costner Francese. Mary's children are: Julia Merrell Ellena, Janis Merrell Hardy, Randall Adair Merrell, Louise Merrell Fralie, Carolyn Merrell Harmon, Jolene Merrell, and Barton Lavar Merrell. Mary died in a nursing home in Pleasant Grove, UT of natural causes.
