Stella Jane Feltch was the third of four children born to Oscar Donwreath Feltch and Isabelle Evaline (Archer) Feltch. Stella and siblings Adelbert Norton, Ervena Lee, and Minnie A grew up in Iowa. Stella married James Gordon Law on 3 Feb 1904 in Hartford, Lyon, Kansas. By 1910 they were living in Barnes County, North Dakota. It was on the family farm just outside Wimbledon that they raised their four children, Helen Fern, Orval Lynn, Ruby Ruth and Donald Fay. After James died Stella moved into Wimbledon and lived behind the barbershop. Stella eventually moved to Valley City a short distance away.
