Pryor- Hazel Conseen, 96, homemaker, died Tuesday. Services pending. Key. (Tulsa World)
---------------------------
Hazel was born on January 19, 1916 in Dallas, Texas to Robert and Ann (Kelley) Clark. She passed away on June 19, 2012 at her home in Clearwater, Florida.

Hazel grew up and attended school in various states and towns as her family moved around frequently in order for her father to find work during the Great Depression. She left school around 8th grade to help raise her younger siblings and help her mother at home. She was later married to Frank Conseen in 1933 in California and they made their home there for a few years. They later moved to Oklahoma. After Frank passed away in 1955, Hazel went to nursing school at St. Joseph's Hospital in Blackwell, OK where she received her LPN training and became a nurse. She briefly worked in Arkansas City then met and married her second husband, Ireland Clouse in 1957. They lived in Blackwell for many years.

Hazel was married to Fred Conseen in 1980 and they lived in Denver, CO for 20 years; after his death she moved to Clearwater, Florida to live with her oldest daughter, Ann, and has remained there since. Hazel was a very artistic lady; she loved crocheting, doll making, gardening and sewing. She was an excellent cook; growing up during the great depression, she knew how to stretch her food and could make a full meal even when the pantry and refrigerator looked bare. She could make wonderful fried chicken and chicken and dumplings among many other things. She loved caring for her family and spending time with them was always special to her.

She is survived by four children; two daughters-in-law; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren and one brother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, two brothers and one sister.
