"Aged Resident of County Passes" : Frederick Schutte, 85, who resided in L'Anse Township for many years, passed away Sunday morning at 9 o'clock. He had been in poor health for two weeks. Mr. Schutte was born in Norway March 21, 1852. He made his home there until he reached manhood, when he decided to come to America. Locating on L'Anse Bay, he made his livelihood by fishing. About 15 years ago he retired. Surviving are his sons, Cornelius of L'Anse and Henry of California, and daughters Mrs. William Tabor of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Jean Hazen of Marshfield, Oregon, Mrs. John Hartz of College Plain, NY, Mrs. William Alexander of Chinnook, Washington, Mrs. John O'Neil and Mrs. Louis Zanto of Duluth, Mrs. Joseph Litchfield of St. Marys, Idaho, and Mrs. George Oie of Ishpeming.
