1850 census recorded parents, Margaret, Moses, Baraby, Abner 28, Delilah 24 and Denny 20.

25 February 1855 married in Catawba County.

Father's will April 1857 listed eight children: Margaret, Hannah , John, Sarah, Barbara, Abraham, Delia and Dinah - and son Moses Hawn as executor. (Memorial says died 1851)

1860 census Hickory Tavern recorded Abner Hawn 38, M.C. 25, Lavinia 2 and infant C. Emeline.

1870 census there recorded also Emanuel 7, Lidda 4 and infant son Terry.

1880 census Newton Township recorded also sons P.P. 9, A.C. 6 and D.O. 2.

1900 census Hickory Township recorded Abner Hawn 78, Mary C. 64 with eight born and seven children alive, Lavinia L 42, Percy P 29, Oliver D. 21 and sister Barbara 80.
