Kate H. Chuba, 95-year-old resident of River Birch Residence in Holdingford, Minn., formerly of Upsala, Minn., passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, in Holdingford. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls with Father Nathan Kroll officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Orthodox Cemetery in Morrison County, Minn. Friends may call 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.
Kate H. Chuba was born Sept. 5, 1910, in Holdingford, Minn., to the late Joseph and Magdelena (Fetsko) Habas. She grew up and attended school in District No. 136 in the Holdingford area. Kate worked in Minneapolis, Minn., for the University of Minnesota. She was united in marriage to John Chuba in September of 1930 in Morrison County, Minn. Kate enjoyed playing cards, dancing and gardening.
Kate H. Chuba is survived by her daughter, Vera Gardner and husband Richard of Minneapolis, Minn.; her son, David Chuba and wife Linda of Poland, Ohio; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Chuba; sisters and brothers.
