For Mrs. Edna Erickson
Mrs. Edna Elizabeth Erickson, daugher of James and Anteline Craford, was born in Lincoln Township, Monona County, Iowa, on January 18, 1875. She passed away at Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Thursday, January 6th, 1955, 12 days before her 80th birthday. She had been a lifelong resident of Monona County, except for seven years at Arthur, Iowa.
On January 26, 1899, she was united in marriage to John R. Moore. Mr. Moore died in 1905. On March 31, 1915, she was married to Ole C. Erickson. Mr. Erickson died on August 24, 1942.
Mrs. Erickson belonged to the Congregational church for many years. Some time before 1917, she became a follower of the Christian Science faith. She was zealous in her religious exercises and duties.
During the last five years she was confined to a hospital. She suffered from paralysis.
Among those suriving are her daughters, Mrs. Wayne Virtue and Miss Mabel Erickson, both of Onawa; Mrs. A. E. Lindsay, of Arthur, Iowa; two sons, Adrian Erickson and Bernard Erickson of Minneapolis, Minn; her two sisters, Ethel and Mercedes Craford and brother, Kent Craford, all of Onawa. Four grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 8th, at 2 p.m. at the Pearson Funeral Home with Rev. Barney Crockett officiating. Gilbert Smith, sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Abide With Me" accompanied by Mrs. O. C. Kelley.
Bearers were James and Wilson Craford, Dr. Warren Marks, H. O. Boe, and Allen Muir. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery.
