Ernest Jones, 72, of 4133 Lovell, Fort Worth, passed away following an illness of 10 days.
He was born in the Belknap Community of Young County, Texas and was raised in and around Belknap and Newcastle.
He and his family moved to Plainview in the late 1930s. He returned to Newcastle for a number of years but moved to Fort Worth in 1955.
Ernest was a farmer by trade and continued after going to Plainview. He was well and favorably known throughout the county and had many friends.
Survived by one son - A.E. Jones; one daughter - Mrs. Virginia Dudley, both of Grover City, CA; one sister - Mrs. Beulah Proffitt of Newcastle; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
