He was born near Wisdom, Mo., August 5, 1910, to John R. and Rosa Lee Foster Shinn. He grew up in the Hogles Creek community and was a member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church near Quincy. He is survived by a sister, Ada Arvieux of Sedalia. Services were September 24 at Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Marshall Henderson and Rev. Jeff Shrable officiating. Burial was in Shawnee Cemetery, Warsaw.
