John W. Jeffery, 83, passed away Monday, June 18, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
He was born March 4, 1929, in Port Huron, Michigan, to John and Sarah Jeffery.
John is survived by his loving wife, Valeria; his daughter, Beverly Moore (Steve Gilbert); grandchildren, Jamie, Larry, Tony, Sara, Bryan, Shawn, Shaleen, and Shannon; 11 great-grandchildren, two of which he raised, Steph and Sam; eight brothers and sisters; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Olan and John, and five siblings.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
