WILLIAM AARON GAUMER; 82; of SmithCreek Rd-New Market; died Tuesday [3-23] at Tan-dem Health Care in Woodstock. MrGaumer was born 16 Sep 1921 in Alexandria, a son of the late WilliamA Gaumer Sr & Stella Mae Gaumer. He was a veteran of World War II & a retired painting contractor. He was a member & past commander of the Hassler-Sutphin American Legion Post No-166 of New Market & a mem-ber of the New Market Rescue Squad.
On 21 Sep 1938, he married the former Vivian Leola Walker, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Patricia A Bradley-Mount Vernon; 2 sons, WilliamL Gaumer & JerryE Gaumer, both of New Market; a sister, Goldie Collins-Annandale; 8 grandchildren & 7 gr-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday after-noon at Theis Funeral Chapel in New Market.
