Born in Georgia, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mollie Rachels Woods. Teeter was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII and retired from Greenwood Mills- Durst Plant where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Following his retirement he worked with Harley Funeral Home and Quality Chrysler. He was a member of Harris Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Jean (Ricky) Davis of Greenwood and Jo Ann (Jimmy) Blackwell of Laurens; a son, Robert "Bobby" (Pat) Woods of Greenwood; five grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
