Todd Harold Magleby December 25, 1965 - October 8, 2011 Resident of Benicia Todd entered Paradise peacefully at home, during a brilliant sunset on Saturday Oct. 8th, with his family at his bedside after a courageous 2 1/2 year battle with brain cancer. Todd was born in Walnut Creek on Christmas day, a special Christmas blessing for his parents, Roger and Shirley. He began school in 1971 at Oak Park Elementary School in Pleasant Hill, attended Sequoia Junior High in Pleasant Hill and graduated from Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord in 1984. He later attended Ricks College, now known as BYU Idaho. From 1986 to 1988, he served as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Arkansas, Little Rock Mission. He graduated from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science in 1989. As co-owner, with his brothers, of OAK PARK HILLS CHAPEL Funeral Home in Walnut Creek, he gave loving care to thousands of grieving families . Todd is survived by his loving children, Kyrsten and Mitchell, of Benicia; his beloved mother, Shirley of Walnut Creek; faithful brothers, Brad (Robin) of Pleasant Hill and Mark (Tracie) of Fairfield; devoted sisters, Laurie (Matthew) Magleby Mackey of Fairfield and Jeanette (James) Magleby Urry of Salt Lake City, UT; nephews, Micah, Thomas, Tyler, Cameron, Joshua, Jacob, Kenneth, Jared, and Jordan; nieces, Courtney, Melissa, Jamie, Alicia and Jenna. He also leaves many cherished friends. He was predeceased by his father, Roger in 1983. His passions were his children's happiness, serving others with his faith, music, food and sports. A Fanatic to the end for the World Champion San Francisco Giants(was in LA for the "boomerang"game), 49ers, Sharks and Warriors; Benicia Rec. HAMMER TIME volleyball and any team Kyrsten and Mitchell played on! Friends are invited to visit on Friday, Oct. 14, from 6-8 PM at OAK PARK HILLS CHAPEL, 3111 N. Main St., Walnut Creek. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, Oct. 15th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1125 Southampton Rd., Benicia, CA. Friends may visit at the church from 10 - 10:45 AM before the funeral. Private Interment at Oak View Memorial Park, Antioch, CA. Memorial gifts to Hospice of the East Bay or charity of choice.
