Funeral services for Karen Bullock Want, 61, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Pastors David and Syble Curry officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mrs. Want was born June 9, 1951 in Houston, Texas and passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Want was the owner of Ty Strings Costume Shop for 22 years, and had lived in Lufkin most of her life. She was a member of the Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and the Spirit Life Church in Hudson. Every child who came into her home was treated like her own. She loved being in her garden and being surrounded by her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Want of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Brandi and Marty Young, Leia and Frank Lopez, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Ali McClendon, Gregory Rowe, Celeste Young, Caleb Young, Tommy Young, Haley Plunkett, Alaina Lopez, Anessa Lopez, Marissa Lopez and Christian Lopez; mother, Bobbie Bullock of Cleveland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doyle Edward and Lou Bullock of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, Joe Bullock of Malvern, Arkansas, and Richard Burl and Faelynn Bullock of Baton Rouge; sister, Barbara Doylene Bullock of Cleveland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mrs. Want in death were her son, Scott McClendon; her father, Doyle Bullock; two brothers, Ike and Shannon Bullock; and sister, Niece Bullock.
