William Allen –
William Allen was born in Dayton, Ohio Sept. 17, 1845. He had a birthright in the Quaker Church. When eight years old he moved with his parents by ox team to Iowa moving to N. Dak. in 1907.
When 24 years of age Mr. Allen was married to Miss Jennie Johnson. To this union was born three children, Cora, Bert and Effie. When Mr. Allen was 41 years of age his wife passed to the Great Beyond. Seven years later Mr. Allen married Miss Elizabeth Bash. To this union 3 children were born, Mary and Martha (twins) and Lena. His wife preceded him in death 13 years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen and family were pioneers in the Hiddenwood Communtiy and took an active part in the work of the Hiddenwood Church. They were a devoted Christian family. For the past several years Mr. Allen has made his home with his daughter Mrs. Wm Johansen. From her home he was taken to a hospital in Minot where early Sunday morning Dec 23rd he passed to the eternal life. Until a few weeks before his death Mr. Allen was a regular attendant at the Presbyterian Sunday School. His Bible was his guide in all things.
Funeral was held Monday afternoon from the Presbyterian Church, Ryder, the Rev. H. E. Dierenfield of Monet officiating. Bearers were Reinhart Nelson, Harley Jones, Dick Turner, Fred Olson, Harvey Nyce and John Campbell. All were pioneer friends of Mr. Allen.
Interment was made in Ryder Cemetery. Beautiful floral offerings expressed sympathy for those bereaved.
The deceased leaves three daughters, Mrs. Martha VanSickle, Barrow, Wis., Miss Allen, Portland, Oregon and Lena Johanson, Ryder and Bert Allen, living in Oregon and fourteen grandchildren. His three daughters, Mary, Martha and Lena were at his bedside when he died.

But cleansed, and saved by perfected grace.
