"Noble Wesley Goss 1888-1945 Noble Wesley, son of Wesley and Hannah (Throop) Goss was born in the town of Lima, Pepin County, February 20, 1888. At the age of six his parents moved to the town of Naples where he attended and graduated from the grade school. He was also a graduate of the Dunn School of Agriculture at Menomonie, the Telegraph School of Eau Claire. Later, he was a telegraph operator at Windmire, N. Dak., then returning to the home farm where he has resided ever since. On September 28, 1922 he was united in marriage to Clara Halverson of Eleva. To this union two children were born, Bruce and Helen. During his life he was active in numerous public offices. School treasurer for 23 years, a member of the local AAA Committee and town assessor at the time of his death. He was a member of the Masonic Order of Mondovi, and the Eau Claire Consistory. He was a kind and devoted husband, father and brother. He was not only loved by his family but esteemed by his friends and respected by the community in which he lived. As a man you could trust him. He had his convictions and was loyal to what he believed right. As a neighbor he was always willing to offer his help. To him life was beautiful and no words are adequate to denote the loss experienced by those who loved him. He has been in poor health for two years, suffering from a coronary heart disease, from which he passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 25."
