From the Faribault Daily News, Mar. 9, 1964:

Gladys Amanda Aase passed away at the District One Hospital at Faribault on March 4, at the age of 58. A family service was held at the Hanson Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. with services at the Hauge Lutheran Church in Kenyon at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, with the Rev. K. A. Knutson officiating at both services. At the church service, a ladies trio consisting of Mrs. Henry Walker, Mrs. Amos Stolee and Mrs. Charles Rongmoe sang two vocal selection; In the Shadow of the Cross" and "God Understands." Mrs. Amos Stolee presided at the organ. Howard Sathrum, Robert Sathrum, Darrel Thomford, Merle Aase, Maurice Sathrum, Ronald Aase, Curtis Sathrum and Gilmar Aase served as pallbearers. Interment took place at the Kenyon Cemetery. The daughter of John G. and Josephine Sathrum Aase, she was born at Kenyon on Feb. 12, 1906. She was baptized at the Hegre Lutheran Church and on Nov. 16, 1919, was confirmed at the Hauge Lutheran Church by the late Rev. N. O. Okerlund. She lived her entire life in this community. When she was 20 years of age her mother passed away and she assumed the responsibility of making a home for her father and brothers and sisters. She is survived by her father, John G. Aase; two sisters; Hazel (Mrs. Anard Thomford) of Zumbrota and Carol (Mrs. Florence Gaasedelen) of Nerstrand and two brothers, Harold and Herbert Aase of Kenyon. Her mother and four brothers preceded her in death.
