Humboldt Doctor Long Ill Passes

WINNEMUCCA, Nov.1 - Being in poor health for a number of years, Dr. Charles E. Swezy, 70, died at his home early Thursday. He was found by Dr. George Weiss around 8 a.m. and his death was fixed as occurring sometime after midnight. A native of Marysville, Calif., Dr. Swezy attended the College of Physicians and Surgeons at San Francisco. A resident of Winnemucca since 1906, he practiced his profession over a long period of time maintaining offices in Winneva building. More recently ill health forced him to retire.
As a major he served in the medical corps of the marine hospital service during the first world war. He was also connected with the China public health service.
On two separate occasions, he was a member of the Humboldt county hospital trustees. Still acting in that capacity he continued as county registrar of vital statistics to the time of his death.
Only known survivor is his widow, Mrs. Caladonia Swezy, who lives in San Francisco. Funeral services are set for this afternoon under the direction of the Eddy mortuary.
