He Was son of Shadrach William "Shade" and Dora Belle (Cherry) Murray and husband of Vella C. (Proffit) Murray. Clurie and Vella were married 5 August, 1922, at Union Hill, in Clay County, Tennessee. Their children were: Loraine Vivian, Alma Elease, Ellis Emry, Dorothy Pauline, Delmas Porter, Ruth Marie, Ella Mae, Willis Ira, Reba Maudeen, Vanus C., Norma Jean, and Selby Doyle Murray. One child was born ca 1931, in Clifford, Bartholomew County, Indiana, and was buried there on the farm, near St. Louis Crossing, in Bartholomew County. Clurie actually made the little coffin himself. He was a farmer.
