Alice Andreason Butler Curtis (Aunt Alice), 78, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at her home August 24, 1998.

Born September 3, 1919 in Lehi, Utah. In 1937 she and her family moved from Salt Lake to Chesterfield, Utah where she eventually married John William Butler in 1942. Shortly after his death in 1954 she met and married Raymond Lloyd Curtis in June of 1955, both of which preceded her in death.An active member of the Granger 6th ward, East Stake of the LDS Church, and matriarch of a community of neighbors and friends that she admired and helped her entire life, always placing others first. Alice was a faithful member of her community working with the Redwood Multipurpose Center to see that those around her were taken care of from the youth programs to aging services. Her later years were spent with the Foster Grand Parent Program helping with the young children she loved so dearly. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survived by her seven wonderful children, Frances (Bill) Hildebrand, Erda; Micheal (Debra) Butler, Erda; Janice Kremer, Centerville; Rodney Curtis, West Valley; Doug (Marsha) Curtis, West Valley; Diana Robison, West Valley; Terry (Bruce) Banks, West Valley; 23 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; eight extended grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. They were her whole life and inspiration as she spent her days trying to keep her family together and out of harms way. Preceded in death by her parents Hyrum Leroy and Desi May Andreason Hoffling; also four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, 1 p.m. at Granger 6th Ward, 3274 South Hillsdale Drive (2760 W). Friends and family may call Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Road and Thursday at the church, 12-12:45 p.m. Interment, Lehi Cemetery.
