Leon Herbert Taylor Jr., 73, of Las Vegas, passed away Sept. 11, 2010. He was born Jan. 23, 1937, in Norfolk, Va., and was a 40-year resident of Nevada. Leon retired from the phone company as a lineman and a repairman after 40 years of service. He excelled as a star runningback in high school. His greatest joy was his children and family, his sports and his three dogs. Leon is survived by his wife, of 52 years, Janice; four daughters; one son; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters; three brothers; as well as many family members on the East coast. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. in Las Vegas.
