TURNERS FALLS -- John G. Nickerson , Jr. age 59 of 7 G St. Turners Falls died June 25th at home following a brief illness.

Born in Greenfield Ma. Nov. 19, 1945 he was the son of John G. Sr. & Mary E. (Stebbins) Nickerson.

He graduated from Turners Falls High School in 1963 and attended G.C.C. for a period.

He was a lifelong resident of this community.

He was employed with the Erving Paper Mill for three years and later was a pharmacy assistant with the Hawley Pharmacy for some 20 years.

He had volunteered with the MCTV in Turners Falls and had rung bells for the Salvation Army. He enjoyed computers, walking and gardening.

Survivors include: One sister: Barbara O. Wells of Gill. Two nephews: Scott Walsh of Montague and Thomas Walsh of Fort Worth Texas, and several cousins.

Graveside services will be held at a date and time to be announced at Brookside Cemetery, Deerfield.

There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.

Walker Funeral Home, 14 High St., Greenfield is in charge of arrangements.
