Mrs. C. B. Stark Of Fallon Dies
Fallon Woman Widely Known in State
FALLON, Jan. 18.-Lily Ellen Stark, wife of Churchill county Assemblyman Clyde B. Stark, died suddenly at Carson City this morning. Mrs. Stark had been prominent in political and civic work for many years in this area, and was a member of Gov. Russell's citizens' advisory committee on education. A native of Kansas, she was born October 31, 1884, and came to Dixie Valley more than 40 years ago with her husband to homestead. The Starks moved later to Fallon where they were connected with extensive ranching interests. Mrs. Stark taught school both at Dixie and Fallon. Among her affiliations she included being a leading Churchill county Republican, and candidate for chairman of the Republican Women's Committee at the Las Vegas convention; a member of the Republican Central Committee at Fallon; president of the Fallon Business and Professional Women, as well as past state president of the BPW; an officer in Ramona Rebekah Lodge; member of Artemesia and Harmony Social Club. She was also an active Red Cross worker. Services will be held in Fallon at 2 p.m. tomorrow. Surviving are her husband three sons, Edward H. and Clyde B. Stark, Jr., of Fallon, and James M. Stark of Palo Alto, Calif., and 11 grandchildren.
